Founded in 1999, STAAR Theatre is located in Historic Antoinette Hall Opera House in Pulaski, Tenn. STAAR (Southern Tennessee Area Arts Repertory) is a nonprofit that fosters artists, inspires youth and engages audiences of all ages through quality theatre and educational programming.
STAAR is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) corporation. STAAR's aim is to serve our Hometown of Pulaski and surrounding areas through the arts. STAAR's desire is to tap into the talents of our citizens.
Our goal is to maintain a multi-purpose facility in which these talents can be perfected and exhibited. We are seeking partners who support our heartfelt goals to provide children and adults a safe, fun and educational place to learn and play, while preserving a piece of history for Giles County and Tennessee!
We stage productions that appeal to families, adults, children and teens, with opportunities to participate open to all ages. Auditions for productions are open to all. We do not discriminate. Community support continues to grow as they see the value in raising confident, successful children.
Center for the Arts
Opera House built in 1868 on the historic square in Pulaski, Tennessee
We are currently leasing to purchase the building pictured above. STAAR productions and activities are conducted on first floor. The second floor is the 1868 Antoinette Hall Opera House, which we believe to be the oldest standing theater of its kind in Tennessee. A fundraising effort is underway to restore the historic building for adaptive reuse as a Center for the Arts.
