Basketball team captain and resident jock Troy Bolton (portrayed by Caleb Wood) discovers that the brainy Gabriella Montez (Chloe Dail), a girl he met singing karaoke on his ski trip, has just enrolled at East High. They cause an upheaval when they decide to audition for the high school musical led by Ms. Darbus. (Jennifer Powell). Other key roles include Ryan and Sharpay Evans (played by Heidi Breitmann and Kevin Vogel). Other supporting actors include Jack Scott (Manny Longfoot), Kelsi Nielson (Hope Aldridge), Chad Danforth (Tyler Crawford), Martha (Julia Russell), Taylor (Tabitha Skeen), Zeke (Elliott Young) and Coach Bolton (Greg Wood). A large ensemble cast rounds out this stage hit!
"High School Musical On Stage" is directed for STAAR by Holly Aldridge, produced by Tammy Pierchoski and choreographed by Slayton-Mavrotheris. It is staged in part through grant support from The Tennessee Arts Commission and sponsored by Southern Tennessee Regional Health System, Pulaski.
The Downtown Ball on the Pulaski Square was held Feb. 6, 2016, with more than 70 people attending. Beginning promptly at 6 p.m., the first session provided step-by-step dance instruction and a brief lesson on ballroom etiquette. Directly following, the formal ball commenced.
